Flash Inking

Bob Flynn shares his tips for inking in Flash. I’m not sure how many people use flash for inking (as it is only one of many programs that enable pressure-sensitive tablet-generated lines), but if you are going to use it, this is the way to do it.

I assumed a lot of people use flash because it’s vector, and people suddenly
think “Oh, I might need to put this on anything from a badge to a billboard”.
I think the only other popular vector-art program is illistrator and they both
have drawbacks. It’s just a matter of choosing what you hate less.

Oh, Inkscape all the way for me… it’s free, open source and generally quite good.

Although obviously, I’m a pen and ink user…

I’m with you, I don’t like drawing without paper,
and I color in PS. So I can’t see much use for a vector program,
but that is pretty impressive looking. I’ll have to check it out anyway.

Actually, there’s probably a good idea for a post there… my opensource toolkit… a selection of programs I have that are free and get the job done.

Drawing without paper is a bit like swimming without water.

I use the Gimp for just about everything. I’ve tried to get into vector graphics, but it just never works out right for me. I guess I need more practice.
